Special high temperature resistant PAUT/TOFD probes and wedges were designed to be used up to 475°C (887°F) for weld defect detection. The PAUT/TOFD technology can be continuously used up to 350°C (662°F). The wedges are designed with cooling channels to keep the temperature under control. Special couplant and wedge material is used to accommodate the ultrasound beam travelling into the material. High temperature PAUT/TOFD probes are made in a way that they can resist elevated temperatures.
